<ESCAPE> is located 820 km southeast of Santiago, Chile. We are just 37 km southeast of Southern Chile’s popular adventure tourism hub of Pucon, and we are 124 km to the northeast of Southern Argentina’s popular adventure tourism hub of San Martin de Los Andes. Cultural centers, unique cuisine, national parks, hot springs, rushing rivers, snow-capped mountains and active volcanoes are right out the back door.
ESCAPE – Avda O’Higgins 801 – Curarrehue, Chile
All international flights will land in Chile’s capital of Santiago. Once in Santiago you may wish to fly to a regional airport closer to Curarrehue. There is no airport in town, however <ESCAPE> will happily offer transfer service from and returning to the following nearby airports:
1) Pucon, Chile. Pucon is the closest airport to Curarrehue. It is about 35 minutes by car from Pucon to <ESCAPE> headquarters. Flights are available to Pucon only in the peak summer months of January and Februrary through LAN Chile and through Sky Airlines. Visit their websites for details.
2) Temuco, Chile. Temuco is the capital city of the IX Region. There are flights daily from Santiago to Temuco. Temuco is 143km (about 2.5 hours by car) from <ESCAPE> in Curarrehue.
3) Valdivia, Chile. There are flights daily from Santiago to Valdivia. Valdivia is a vibrant city near the Pacific Ocean, located 187km (just over 3 hours by car) from <ESCAPE> in Curarrehue.
Bus travel is safe and easy in Chile. <ESCAPE> is located one block to the west of the main bus terminal in the center of town.
From Santiago, you can take a “direct” bus to Curarrarehue with Intersur, an affiliate of Turbus. If you do not plan to make any stops along the way, we recommend traveling by night on a “Cama” or “Semi-cama” bus for maximum comfort and logistical ease. Go to sleep in Santiago and wake up in paradise! Expect this ride to take about 12 hours. The Intersur direct bus costs ~ CH$15.000 ($30 USD).
From elsewhere in Chile, you will want to take a bus to Pucon and then take a mini-bus to Curarrehue. Pucon-Curarrehue by mini-bus takes about 50 minutes and costs ~CH $1000 ($2.25 USD). If coming from the South, we are 358 km (about 6 hours) to the northeast of Puerto Montt, Chile.
If traveling from Argentina, you can take any bus destined for Pucon or Villarica and hop off in Curarrehue. Just be sure to tell the people at the ticket counter as well as the bus driver that you will be getting off at the “Terminal de Curarrehue.”
From Pucon, follow Camino Internacional (Ruta 199) east toward Argentina for 37 km until you arrive in Curarrehue. Ruta 199 is the main street in town. <ESCAPE> is located on the left side of the street, one block before the main bus terminal on the east side of Curarrehue.
From Argentina, head west on RP 60 for 47 km. RP 60 will turn into Ruta 199 Ch after you enter Chile. Curarrehue is just 38 km from the border. <ESCAPE> will be on your right as you enter town, just down the street from the main bus terminal.
