Getting Here

Puesco <ESCAPE> is located 820 km southeast of Santiago, Chile.  We are just 60 km southeast of Southern Chile’s popular adventure tourism hub of Pucon, and we are 124 km to the northeast of Southern Argentina’s popular adventure tourism hub of San Martin de Los Andes.  Cultural centers, unique cuisine, national parks, hot springs, rushing rivers, snow-capped mountains and active volcanoes are right out the back door.

If you look closely you can see the roof of our guesthouse across the river, directly beneath the lofty peaks of Millallipen mountain range. This photo is taken from the Camino Internacional 199.

By Plane:

All international flights will land in Chile’s capital of Santiago.  Once in Santiago you may wish to fly to a regional airport closer to Curarrehue.  There is no airport in town, however <ESCAPE> will happily offer transfer service from and returning to the following nearby airports:

1) Pucon, Chile.  Pucon is the closest airport to Curarrehue.  It is about 1 hour by car from Pucon to <ESCAPE> headquarters in Puesco.  Flights are available to Pucon only in the peak summer months of January and Februrary through LAN Chile and through Sky Airlines.  Visit their websites for details.

2) Temuco, Chile.  Temuco is the capital city of the IX Region.  There are flights daily from Santiago to Temuco.  Temuco is about 2.5 hours by car from <ESCAPE> in Curarrehue.

By Bus:

Bus travel is safe and easy in Chile.  From Santiago, you can take a “direct” bus to Curarrarehue with Jetsur.  If you do not plan to make any stops along the way, we recommend traveling by night on a “Cama” or “Semi-cama” bus for maximum comfort and logistical ease.  Go to sleep in Santiago and wake up in paradise!  Expect this ride to take about 12 hours.  The Jetsur direct bus costs ~ CH$18.000 ($30 USD).

From elsewhere in Chile, you will want to take a bus to Pucon and then take a mini-bus to Curarrehue.  Pucon-Curarrehue by mini-bus takes about 50 minutes and costs ~CH $1000 ($2.25 USD).  If coming from the South, we are 358 km (about 6 hours) to the northeast of Puerto Montt, Chile.

We can arrange a pick up in Curarrehue.

If traveling from Argentina, you can take any bus destined for Pucon or Villarica and hop off in Puesco.  Just be sure to tell the people at the ticket counter as well as the bus driver that you will be getting off in “Puesco, Donde Quintun.”

By Car

From Pucon, follow Camino Internacional (Ruta 199) east toward Argentina.

We are 317 km (4.5 hours) from San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina.  We are 124 km (2 hours 25 mins) from San Martin de Los Andes, Argentina.
